Baby Café is an informal meeting place for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and toddlers. It is held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday afternoon a month from 2.00pm – 4.00pm. Founded in 2000, Baby Café has served as a very valuable point of contact for many young and first time mums where they can share their concerns and the milestones in their baby’s life. The tea and homemade cake is very much appreciated and the helpers who are nearly all grandmas like to feel that they are offering a relaxing afternoon for the customers. Many of the helpers have witnessed the growing up of the children right through to secondary school and still greet the mums in the community. At only £1 per session, with endless cups of tea in the comfortable and warm surroundings of the United Church Hall, Baby Café is often referred to as ‘the best place to meet’
