Ramblers

Alan and Babs Pearn started the Ramblers towards the end of 2005.

The idea was to share and enjoy our magnificent countryside by going out for an easy walk together once a month.

In practice we can get any number from four to twentytwo joining us.

The walks are usually around six or eight miles, led by someone within the group. We meet at the church at 10.00am on the first Monday of the month, and drive to the start (and end!) of the walk. After the walk we have lunch at a convenient pub, or else picnic in a quiet corner - weather permitting. We generally are back home around three.

It is by no means confined to Church members! On several occasions there have been more people who do not come to our church than who do - which is great.

We also have a Christmas Dinner each year at the Rose & Crown in Nympsfield - the very first pub we had lunch in on the very first walk. Even allowing for sharing it with the Strollers, We seem to get far more people to the Christmas Dinner than we have ever seen on the walks, but...
