An intermittent but dedicated choir.
Once a year, a fortnight before Christmas, there is a 'Christmas Miscellany' in our Church. This is a celebration of the real meaning of Christmas, in songs, in poetry, in extracts from many different writers, in Bible readings, in a few well-known carols.
The songs have to be sung, and a choir has to be trained to sing them. And that is how Wotton Christian Singers has come into its intermittent existence.
As a result of meeting to rehearse for the Miscellany, WCS has begun to be called upon for other special services in the Town - and not just in our Church. In fact, less than half the members are from our Church, and the choir is a genuinely ecumenical group, without barriers of denomination.
This is particularly useful when any Latin words come along - at least the Roman Catholics can put us right on pronunciation!
