For the shops Easter began at the end of February and ended on Easter Monday! For Christians Easter began on Resurrection Sunday two days after Good Friday- and will last for 50 days! 40 days from Easter Day to Ascension Day (May 1st) and another 10 days from Ascension Day to Pentecost (May 11th) the climax of Easter!
How do we keep Easter alive in our congregations in our homes in our hearts?
Throughout this April we continue to tend and water our model Easter Garden! (If we have made one). Throughout this April we remember the Easter Greeting Christ is risen! Alleluia! (A splendid antidote to Did you have a nice Easter? As if it was all over). Throughout this April we continue to sing Easter hymns every Sunday! Throughout this April we continue to light our Easter candle!
Above all we keep reading the Easter Bible stories till we know them off by heart! Each time we see something fresh.
Mary at the Tomb Peter and John at the Tomb - Mary in the Garden The Risen Christ in the Upper Room The Risen Christ and Thomas The Risen Christ by the Lakeside The Risen Christ and Peter.
The Women at the Empty Tomb The Two on the Road to Emmaus Jesus and the Wounds.
